How much of a role do your students play in the planning process for your lessons? I have found that many times I am trying to come up with some AMAZING lesson that is going to engage the students in a way that is relevant to their life, only to fall short. When I ask the students to look through a chapter or brainstorm about a concept, they begin to give me ideas about how to engage them. When I use one of their ideas, they feel validated and are more likely to put more into a lesson. How have you done this, and to what degree? Do you have a lesson that you can share when you did this?
