I know that I have written about Skype's use in the classroom, but I wanted to share with you my experience yesterday with Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C. What an AWESOME experience. I had my students submit questions prior to the session. Kate Langsdorf and Jake Flack took my students through the evenings events on April 14, 1865. They did a fantastic job explaining the events as well as included some interesting tid bits of lesser know facts about the people and places involved in the assassination. The students had a chance to ask their questions at the end of the presentation. It was truly a very neat experience that I hope does not become a unique experience, but rather common place so that the curriculum can become enriched to a degree that is unmatched. The world is now available to be a presenter or collaborator for your classroom.
